Yeah but the infected one needs to be restrained.
I'd also want my home base to be somewhere with a good place to lock up infected we don't want to kill.
I assume it would be biological, not supernatural, and either way there probably wouldn't be proof it can't be reversed, so I don't see a need to prematurely give up hope
it depends on the type of infection/zombie, but in general yes

well if it is transmitted by proximity/air it would be a bad idea to have them in a close space
also, if it's one of those super strong/fast zombies, you can't risk them fully transforming

Bus is a potential cage. Driving means split attention, if someone in the cage becomes zombie. Letting people in appears to be a kindness, but if we're trapped in there with a zombie, it's the opposite. Only winning move is extend the kindness, but enforce your rules, whatever they may be.
