Is speed reading a real thing? Does anyone do it?
Discussion
Nowadays, I think it’s more effective to use chat-gpt to summarize the key content and conclusions of a book, if you want to read it through quickly.
I read for comprehension and retention, the weight of the material dictates the speed.
I agree, but I am interested in the idea of broadening and filling in gaps in my understanding of various things. For example speed reading Russian History. I don't need to retain it all , so long as it forms a sort of skeleton that I can flesh out later at my leisure.
I completely agree that reading quickly and reading well (and objectively) are two different skills.
Nah it probably some AI bullshit they're comes a stage when reading you're not actually taking in what you're reading if you're "Speed reading" just my opinion pal.
