Nowadays, I think it’s more effective to use chat-gpt to summarize the key content and conclusions of a book, if you want to read it through quickly.

I read for comprehension and retention, the weight of the material dictates the speed.

I agree, but I am interested in the idea of broadening and filling in gaps in my understanding of various things. For example speed reading Russian History. I don't need to retain it all , so long as it forms a sort of skeleton that I can flesh out later at my leisure.

That’s where a 2x audio book plays it’s part for me. Reading is more like studying for me.

You can practice previewing/skimming texts, but yes there's a tradeoff of comprehension vs speed

Nah it probably some AI bullshit they're comes a stage when reading you're not actually taking in what you're reading if you're "Speed reading" just my opinion pal.
