I consider the exposure of public keys with taproot to be a mistake, but I have always thought about a 40-year horizon, which certainly does not affect me but does affect my children.

But everything that is being said now and moving around the quantum threat is no longer just bullshit to me, I now believe it is a state attack to divide and screw us over even more.

Now the new rumor is that all institutional players are concerned about a possible quantum attack.

The idea seems to focus on weakening any idea for retail to believe in self sovereignty, and to stack etfs ‘for your safety’

Ten years ago, we had the same conversation we are having today.

It basically follows the same line as nuclear fusion.

Possible? Yes.

Right now? No.

In 10 years? No.

Could it be in 40 years? Yes.

And could it be in 100 years? Also yes.

The thing is, now they're shoehorning it in to institutional investors.

In this case, I think Willy Woo is a bad actor.

right now is too late. btc is slow, and I expect a lot of back and forth before the issue is resovled. this model will not work well if there is a crisis, which quantum computing will be. moreover, most likely first adaptirs of quantum computing will be governments, and we all know well how much they like btc competition. it will be used in kost disruptive way possible. better to think about this issue now. it will jot resolve itself by itself

There’s no such thing as a quantum computer. It’s not even a thing. It’s just adding an obscure word to the word computing to create FUD. It reuses the term from quantum physics, which are mathematical models for things we can’t explain mechanically. I wish people would scratch at least the first layer…
