I’d venture to guess it was the re-branding of Twitter. I know it doesn’t impact the actual experience but I went from a power-user to meh. The re-brand just makes it feel so different.

I can’t bring myself to use Meta products; their obsessive data collection and tracking is way too aggressive for me. My nym account that I had since 2008 was permanently locked after they demanded government ID due to “suspicious activity” when I was just deleting old posts.

Let it… it may be new, but it is still a legacy platform and if that’s what people want to do, they can stay in an ideological echo chamber… since I found nostr I spend about a tenth of the time I used to on all those legacy platforms combined

This is the kind of thing that is said to engineer people to go take a look at how much steam has been picked up, which means the hype level (and site traffic) increases, making it appear that steam has, in fact, been picked up.

Can this be built? I like to share songs that I value on NOSTR utilising Tidal (since they respect artists via fairer royalty values). Currently, if I use a Tidal link, only a portion of the song can be heard (generally not enough to appreciate the song). Is there a way for me to post a whole song preview in NOSTR via Tidal in a way that can monetize it for the artist or Tidal via Sats? That way, if someone wanted to take advantage of sampling a whole song over and over, they would have to keep paying Sats to Tidal/artist to do so. Currently, the cost of some Sats are low enough where most people will give away a few to appreciate the whole song if say the sample was of interest.

It seems so. I noticed since Twitters rebrand more people, brands (including tech companies like Google and Adobe), universities and (news and entertainment) publications have joined and are engaging with each other and everyone/anyone. It’s missing some spice tho. But there’s not a lot of hate which is a relief. And yeah it seems more liberal leaning.
Meta probably has ‘hooks’ thing down to a science. I wouldn’t underestimate them. It’s probably the biggest risk X faces. But Musk-idiot’s pivot probably has a 4 year runway to build an ‘everything app’. He is not one to underestimate either. The next election will see a lot of money flow to both these platforms!

Was able to download and use an APK when it was hot and it worked fine. Now EU people are restricted even more. Would have to probably create fake account and use VPN to get in.
Not worth the hassle. Not when I got #nostr.
