I decided last year that I would buy a certain amount in Bitcoin and stop giving them useless presents every year

They will get it when they turn 18 but with one condition:
They have to learn how to self custody and cannot sell for another 4 years when they get it

I did the same for my nieces/nephew. Haven’t put any conditions in place though, they already lost the keys once, I kept a copy as I thought that would happen!

Yeah, that's probably a wise set of conditions! I didn't want to put too many conditions on a present. If they want to sell it or lose it somehow then they'll learn an important lesson.
I stack for my teenage son and give hin $20 worth of bitcoin on the cash app every month. He sells it right away to buy cheap jewlery or whatever.
It's tough to watch, but it's part of the learning process.
Better to learn it young! I know when I was younger I never listened to advice and had to learn things the hard way!

Love it, I do the same with my two nieces. Bought a lump sum when they were born and add more every year on their birthday. Their parents still ignore Bitcoin.
