Amethyst's new Markdown parser is much faster. We are also finally able to render Notes, URL previews, and our custom hashtag icons inside Markdown posts. We are one step closer from merging the regular kind1 and markdown parsers together. 🚀

Nice! One thing I've noticed is that when you reply to someone the Draft appears as well for a minute before disappearing. Also I was wondering, do drafts get synced to your relays or just your device?
They are synced with relays so other clients can see them as well.

I know there's been some debate over whether Kind 1 should use Markdown. Perhaps a new kind should be introduced for short, Markdown-formatted text notes.
This would segue with the idea of moving away from Kind 1 as the "default" event kind. Markdown-formatted short notes would be suited for social media applications in ways that plain Kind 1 might not be.
I think kind1 could benefit from Markdown support. For instance, right now there is no way for authors to choose when links should preview and when they shouldn't. Most kind1s just preview everything, which sometimes is not what authors wanted.
That means more and more people will write markdown in kind 1 notes. 😅 But I am not ready to decode it.
