It’s super hard to meditate. Every time I try it instead of nothingness I am solving problems or planning.

Try a silent meditation retreat. Make the time. It’ll jumpstart the work. But you have to have the will and make the time for yourself.
How much does it cost and how long of a time off am I looking at?

Vipassna doesn’t cost anything. You donate what you want at end. 10 days no speaking and 10ths of meditation. It’s a game changer.
Vipassna ✨
I Second everything Amanda has mentioned about silent meditation retreats.
This organization has centres located throughout the world, ran by volunteers, at no cost, a donation can be given at the end of a 10 day course to help those that come after you get the gift of meditation as well.
If interested you can find a location near you and check out available courses.

Very normal for this to happen. When you become aware of the thinking mind chattering ( solving problems/ planning or otherwise) refocus your awareness on the object of your meditation ( breath/sensations, general mindfulness etc not sure what type you are doing) you most likely will have to do this many many times 😊
This ‘coming back to the object of the meditation’ helps the mind develop greater awareness, concentration and discipline. In my experience this is part of meditation.
I don't know your experience level, but You might find 10 min guided meditation easier at first. That is what happened for me. I use headspace app. Free 30 day trial codes available. Then you can try other techniques.
It's like choosing a cold storage wallet. 😉
