I need an option to hide people notes but still receive notifications if they interact with me. So would be different than mute because I would still receive notifications of interactions, understand?

I don't understand this, because on Jumble, not your fork, when I mute an user, I don't receive any notification. So I don't understand why you added this option.

yeah ive been trying to solve this bug for a while. It keeps breaking things.
Other thing: doesn't make sense hide the bookmark and other buttons until we click on the note. On mobile doesn't work correctly.

muted words hurt discussions too much. It's never been a viable system.
In contrast, email is *the most filtered protocol on earth*. But the most common and useful filter is not just a simple set of muted words. It is a relatively centralized repository of Bayesian scoring rules called Spamassassin. So someone saying a muted word might be an obnoxious spammer, or they might be a friend saying a real in a relevant context of discussion. Bayesian scoring allows you to make realistic judgements about which is which using context additional to the phrase. A simple word filter does not.
Word filters are always despised and frustrating. I play a game with a word filtered chat and they are always false positives. It becomes hard to have a discussion.
