I remember when installing Linux was more complicated than Windows. Shit like manual drive partitioning and needing to install drivers for video and network to install media made Linux inaccessible for the average user.
Now it's flipped. You can install PopOS! with like 3 clicks. Windows on the other hand requires an active internet connection, Microsoft account, biometrics, telemetry, location services, advertising ID, PIN #, bitlocker, OneDrive, and 2 forms of alternative contacts, mobile and email. Then they try to sell you a subscription to both Microsoft 365 and Xbox Live ($7.99/mo and $11.99/mo respectively)
