A patient brought me real sheep’s milk greek yogurt as a thank you gift today and now I’m not sure what exactly I have been buying from the grocery store for years because it’s certainly not this.

That good good! raw is the best!

I tried raw milk for the first time recently

What you buy in the grocery store simply is not milk

Not baaaad?

If you go to an asian or global supermarket you’ll be able to find the good stuff there for a good price <3

Good to know especially since I shop in an Asian market weekly. I just had no idea it was so different to even look for it. This is almost like cream cheese and very flavorful.

You’re a queen

Like THE queen

That's why I eat Skyr and not yogurt. It's twice as thick as Greek yogurt.

Assuming it’s better than the store bought stuff?

Much thicker, denser, creamier and more flavorful.

Please don't plagiarize my Grindr profile

Had a recent, similar experience with "pasture-raised" eggs 😅 Gifted by an awesome local bitcoiner who's building his own farm.

No question there is a huge difference with eggs. We are lucky to get most of our eggs from a neighbor. My son now calls the pale yolked, grocery store eggs the “sad eggs”.

Same goes for eggs, produce, etc. The stuff you buy at the store regardless of how much you pay and what marketing is on the packaging tastes nothing like if you go to your own backyard to get eggs or fresh produce.

Greek yogurt is called that because historically Greeks milked sheep. Higher protein, fat, and solids make it thick with no straining. Stuff in the store is strained to remove the whey. 1 lb of cow milk yogurt = 1/3 lb of Greek cow milk yogurt. That also why it costs more. There is literally no better yogurt than sheep’s milk yogurt. Only problem is they only milk for about 4 months at a time and give crazy small amounts of milk!

It is delicious. Thx for the education!

Same thing happened to me with raw local honey from a farm. Makes store bought honey feel so artificial

This patient gave you a ‘love zap’ and didn’t even realize it! Cheers

So raw and so good 👨‍🚀🚀

Time for some tzatziki

Grew up with sheep milk Greek yogurt. When I make it today I feel a sense of closeness to my yiayia, who passed away in 2009.

It really is amazing stuff. I avoid honey, but loved it with wildflower honey as a kid.

Recipe?

I can’t imagine the delicious things you ate as a child Mandrik.

Yes, she recommended crushed walnuts or pistachios and wild honey to serve, but its delicious plain.

If you have the opportunity shop directly from farmers, you gonna see a big difference.
