A family that wholly outsources its potable water supply, food supply, energy security and physical security cannot be free.

What other key responsibilities have we outsourced by default?

It’s time to purposefully and methodically take them back to as great a degree as possible, and disentangle ourselves from the fiat matrix.

We call this freedom through responsibility on our homestead.

I recognise that not everyone has the space, resources and time to be fully self sufficient but little steps and small improvements make a big difference over time.

Yes. It is up to us to be ultimately responsible for our essentials. I just wish I had this aim and knew the importance of it from an earlier age.

I hope my kids don’t just hear the wah wah wah like the parents’ voices in Charlie Brown cartoons when I’m trying to teach these lessons. People rarely learn the important lessons without the pain associated with ignoring them.
