The new one had a retelling of the airplane one right? I thought that was really interesting in trying to update it and subvert it because now we have things like headphones to drown everything out around you🤣🤣

The movie version was cool. But it was the first version I ever saw that wasn't the Simpsons version so I think I'm biased.

My favorite would be the Simpsons version.

But I love all the subtle differences between them. The original, the movie, and I think the new one did a version unless that's another Mandela

LOL Simpson's version was awesome. I applaud them for trying to remake them. So much can be done with modern effects.

Will always live the originals, though Watched with my grandma. She got me in to all the old shows. Benny Hill was always fun. 😂

I never watched Benny hill! But it looks hilarious!

What's your favorite twilight zone episode? Or like... Most effective to you?

I think for me the most effective was the library one when he broke his glasses. But my favorite is the one where the lady had plastic surgeries like a ton of em and when she came out she was gorgeous, but all the doctors were like we failed! And she looked in the mirror and screamed. Because all the normal people in that universe were like super ugly.

I remember the plastic surgery episode! But, yes, the library one hit the hardest. You could just feel the anguish after his glasses dropped.

Riiiighhhhhhttt

And I don't remember if it was shot this way... But it's definitely directed this way in my brain, which means it's a great episode because it's burned in there

But I don't even think you can see him really. Can you? I think his glasses fall. And he just goes no! Then the camera pulls back and you see all the steps and the books with pages flaking in the wind. Yes a small dot on the screen when he falls to his knees. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo why good

And I think it starts to fade into the studio set and rod seeing standing there while you hear "I had all the time in the world! I had nothing but time!"

And Rod seeing begins his soliloquy "a man with a passion for literature..." Sort of deal.

Hm, there are a lot of good episodes of the original Twilight Zone. Two I especially like are “The Hitch-Hiker,” which was based on a Lucille Fletcher-penned radio play, and “The Midnight Sun.”

Classics!

Midnight sun is so good! It's a shame that when you Google it now twilight pops up because it's the name of can fiction from the name perspective of those books 🤷🏽

I’ve never seen a Twilight movie nor read any of the books.

Perhaps not coincidentally, one of my favorite movies is Carnival of Souls, which is sort of like an 80-minute episode of the Twilight Zone. Viewers seem to either love it or think it’s stupid.

I watched that for the first time maybe 4 or so years ago. I can definitely see that. I don't know if I made that connection but it's pretty obvious now

So many similarities, and some subtle differences. Still love the Simpson's version. The Tree house of Horrors shows are always fun. 😂🤙🏼

Always the best Simpsons episodes.

New treehouses still good too. Last year they had 2 of em I think instead of one. A regular tree house episode and a while episode where they did IT.

It's really the only time I'll warch the Simpson's anymore. The regular episodes have become tiresome, tbh.

The regular new ones are ok. Mostly they don't have that heart anymore though.

The best thing about the regular episodes right now is how they do genuine and meaningful call backs.

Not like "remember that time" *cuts on scene from old episode*

Instead they'll be doing something like Bart is frustrated doing some project, asks Lisa for help. "Why do you need MY help. You're the creative one. You wrote me a song for my birthday remember?".

"Michael Jackson wow you a song for your birthday..."

"Oh yeah... Well... You helped?"

Trying to bring back some of the old magic, I guess. I do miss the early episodes. Pure comedy gold.

God I love grandpa 🤣

Grandpa and Ralph

Ralph was always a personal favorite. I had a pin button made, when I was in the Navy; I'd give it to my new guys when they reported. 😂

My favorites were always

"A leprechaun tells me to burn things."

And

For new guys🤣🤣🤣

If I ever served in the baby we would've been friends then. And I would've told you that you had it ALL wrong Ralph should be whenever anyone has an idiot move. I'd probably have a few Ralphs pinned to be.

Nah squeaky-voiced teen needs to be the new guy. He worked everywhere!

Submarines are completely different than any other military group. We're a special bunch. Who voluntarily goes on a boat that sinks? 🤣

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Seriously. I went down a rabbit hole after the titan thing. I learned about the thresher and it imploding. And I guess they teach people that it was instant or whatever and a great. But recent FOIAct releases show that there were people alive and responding to pings and banging on the hull for 24 hours trapped sinking lower and lower up to like a day and a half after everything happened.

Terrible to even think about

So the Thresher incident was legit. Her emergency air valves froze during a test and she went down. Implosions are instantaneous. Over in a micro-second. The Scorpion they tried to cover up as an accidental torpedo explosion from inside. But, if you look at her damage you know it was externally initiated. She was torpedoed back in the 60s, but kept quiet as not to start a war.

Now the Kursk (Russian sub lost in the Bearants) had several people still alive after the explosion. Lives were lost because the Russian government didn't want anyone else involved.

I could keep going. Tragedies all around, though. Doesn't matter your nationality. Submariners are submariners no matter where you go.

People are people🤷🏽

And as a beige Californian everyone and everything living or inanimate is a dude. So.

Exactly. Dude is a preferred use pronoun 🤣🤙🏼

Well I identify as a non-binary 49er

Because I want to find gold in them/their hills

How I imagine you look as a gold prospector

😂😂😂

That but with a better moustache.

And when I go gray I think I might try dyeing hair of everyone to keep up the black and white theme🤷🏽

No dyes here 😂🤙🏼

Moustache not done for morning dog walk but🤷🏽

Salt n pepper not quite gray yet

I like my salt n pepper. Embraced it with open arms. 😂

My beard used to be much smaller. And it's only slightly in my stache. So suddenly I started growing it out and it was there. Ladies a at bars like it🤷🏽 or at least it attracts a lot of fingers asking how soft it is🤷🏽 so I'm pretty happy with it

Exactly the same. Just gotta make sure to keep it oiled. 😎🤙🏼

Or moleman maybe

He just makes me sad. 😂🤙🏼

🤣🤣
