Say you're a new kid at school and you've never been a popular person. Do you care about who the most popular kids are? Maybe so you can avoid them!

After a few weeks you still don't have any friends, but you have noticed a few people that seem cool, so you "follow" them. Based on this set of follows, you can compute a "friend score" for anyone you don't know at all. It's simply the percentage of people you follow who are friends with the person in question. (There's actually a twist to it, but I'll get into that later.)

Does “friends with” mean mutual follow?

Yep!

Nice! 👏🏽

Creative idea!

I like where this is going. A bit like early facebook. How you not degenerate into people finding out how to play this (and end up with later facebook)?

Bring back The Friendster.

Diving in head first. Followed all.
