The U.S. must remove capital gains tax on bitcoin for payments to thrive.

Important distinction for the cypherpunk/hard libertarian type. Just because Bitcoin doesn't NEED help or approval to be used as money doesn't mean it wouldnt be a hell of a lot easier for ordinary people.

You probably won’t get this on all bitcoin transactions. I’d recommend for lobbying for it first some de minimis amount (a few hundred bucks per transaction for a good or service). Work from there.

Welcome to the blocksize wars.

*for the US to thrive.

You really let yourself dream don't you

"The U.S. must remove capital gains tax on bitcoin for payments to thrive."

Care to explain the logic underlying this conclusion? Because on the face of it, it seems like that would help *speculation*. Anything that's good for people speculating on an asset tends to be bad for people trying to use it for anything else (eg payments).
