Zeus is amazing. I use it for satscoffee when I'm mobile and to quickly check liquidity/channels. Not good for most normies to easily set up though.

It's gotta be something that simply works right out the box. That leaves WoS if you eliminate coinos. Even wos shut down at the first sight of a possible challenge....

Again need an easy plug and play wallet with training wheels.

On iOS it was unusable for me after in enabled faceid. For some reason it worked fine before but once faceid was enabled it crashed out every time.

That happened to me once, it was definitely a bug, but I reported it and it hasn’t happened since. You can just restore from your backup and it will work again.

Always has been

No, never was and never been. Is pure garbage

That's like your opinion man.

No. Is not an opinion. Is years and years of using Bitcoin and almost all apps ever existed.

Do not let the guard down and bee fooled by exactly the enemies of Bitcoin disguised in so called L2s.

You will remember my words.

Anything that is called "nodeless" is in fact a disguised centralized service that soon will get the KYC hammer to all their users.

It's a scam.

Love our Darth, but he thinks every new Lightning user should be required to take a six week certification course in DIY node-building and channel management before they even get started.

Bitcoin is a natural selection...

Is there such a course.... Cause I would definitely be interested. Lol

I like focused courses because while you can self teach using YouTube and the various forums it is not focused and everyone has an opinion of how it should be done.....

Exactly. I know first hand that many Bitcoiners would actually attend and find them useful.

To be honest nostr:npub1aeh2zw4elewy5682lxc6xnlqzjnxksq303gwu2npfaxd49vmde6qcq4nwx we could probably work on this together and build a series for this.

This is what I would love to have in nostr:npub1hxfkcs9gvtm49702rmwn2aeuvhkd2w6f0svm4sl84g8glhzx5u9srk5p6t, we just need a few more people to contribute to it.

We could do that. We could have the workshops be part of the introduction to the community. If you need additional help or have questions, join the community here.

That would be kind of bad ass though 😂

I mean you can always go and immerse yourself in Darth’s blog. He’s written volumes, so mad respect there.

If you’re a noderunner, chances are he’s helped you out in some way. 🫡

Aren’t blitz and wos the same thing now since they both use spark?

They’re basically interoperable in that you can use one seed phrase in the other, but there are a bunch of feature differences that make Blitz the better option, including privacy, NWC compatibility, and they’re much better at accepting feedback and responding to support issues.

Ah ok haven’t really used blitz I don’t think?

Yes and it's opensource. WoS is not.

Blitz is great, and improving rapidly, but isn't Spark still a bit too risky for prime time? https://www.bitcoinlayers.org/layers/spark

No doubt.

And it's opensource.

I agree.

We agree

Lmfao I hope so

Granted, this space changes quickly; but, my current recommendation is minibits wallet for pure Cashu with nwc support.

Then, when ready to graduate larger amounts to something more secure, swap to liquid (and eventually to btc on-chain) via bull wallet. Liquid doesn't have the unilateral exit that a zeus embedded node has; but with Liquid's federated model, it seems pretty close - and I think the tradeoff of not having to manage node liquidity is worth it (unless you're really using lighting like all the time).

Also, bull wallet's Recoverbull encrypted seed vault is a pretty clever set of training wheels (though, I wouldn't recommend using it for cold storage amounts).

I would like a specific guide and path that works out of the box for those just getting into crypto (and BTC specifically) and has step by step guides for acheaving full independence (end result might very well be using different products and wallets)

Why would you eliminate coinos?

Because they were hacked. I still use them though. It was more a steel man if you eliminate them, then what's the easiest setup for normies with an NWC clsetup as well.

The best Bitcoin/Spark Lightning wallet today is nostr:npub1cm3rpgj7457yjuqnvdalxaauakqu0ndkpkyp5cldkyutpz4xszpsmk96wt. Amazing UI and very simple to use.
