Tried Threads. If I'm being honest with myself, I think it might be widely successful. But not necessarily because I think it's good. I think it's because they've clearly chosen to go all-in on algorithmic dopamine hits, and engagement farming to maximize addiction. Which, let's be honest, is bad for humanity and democracy.

No algorithm on Nostr is like a cleanser. If I see your note I see your note. There is no catching up

Actually there is something happening, unless I'm following too many people, sometimes I have to search out people I want to see, I don't know if it's a relay thing or what?

... like the TikTok of microblogging.

Ouch.

It's not anymore "uber for ..." But "tiktok of ..."

This is dangerous to our democracy. Actually.

screenshots or it didnt happen

I think Threads will win if they can hold off of their desire to go hard on the algorithm. Twitter works because you can have that real time conversation. If Threads manages to do it in such a way that is both real time but also scoped by your community, then they’ll have something better than twitter.

It all makes me so glad that Nostr hasn’t tried to copy twitter, instead we’re building an app ecosystem.

In my first venture into the utilization of this system (nostr). you postulate that analogous mechanisms might be indispensable to ensure the effective operation of this protocol.

Would you say it's a threat to democracy?
