I got a new heater a while ago, got a 'cash discount' from the installer. When I removed the money from my credit union; 'we have to ask, what are you using this money for?'
I came VERY close to replying "I'm buying diesel fuel and fertilizer, why?"

Credit unions watch your transactions pretty closely.
Supposed to be for "protection from fraud", which a good amount of it probably is... but credit union employees are still looking over who you spend money with and how much.
Not great for privacy.
Yea, it was over the threshold of what is 'required by law' for them to ask, so I don't want to give them too much shit over it. I ended up just telling them 'I'm fixing stuff. Is that good enough?".
