Set your default zap to something low.
Then zap instead of liking a note.
There is no reason for a like on nostr as there are no algorithms. When we inevitably do get algos on nostr, Iβd like them built around the notion of value.

Zapping needs to be as seamless as tapping like, once that happens then I agree.
It is on many desktop clients. Mobile needs some work.
How do you think algos will get around ppl pumping their own shit with alt accounts?

Likes can still be useful without algorithms. The Fediverse has likes with no algorithms. Not everybody is going to want to buy and invest in a balance of sats in order to interact with others.
I disagree. Until clients are LN wallets for 1 click, the "fee" for zapping is rather high. Suppose it takes 3 seconds: that's about a thousandth of an hour, so at $100/hr that's $0.10, which is nearly 400 sats, or more than typical zap. Not to mention, flow interruption. I like likes too.
