Use synching
It's unbelievably useful and it's yours.
used to use it but seemed overly complex for my use cases
I built this for a similar use case, was tired of using slack as my to between. https://nts.fly.dev/
Under the hood I'm using an autogenerated nostr key pair, and a khatru relay to store encrypted notes. it's rough around the edges, but it works.
I'm still amazed how bad is the syncthing UX for such great features and capabilities.
The setup could literally be 2 button clicks, but it drags you through all these new concepts that you don't really need to care about.
Mobile apps suck, desktop apps suck.
And I'm saying this as someone who has been using syncthing actively for many years now.
#syncthing
and the Android app just entered end-of-life
I use Syncthing all the time
I understand but what is better? I've played with it for at least 4 years and the new connections are easy by studying the interface. Compared to the gimp it's a walk in the park.
I have no complaints. I do understand the easy part. It's open source. Why don't you make a better UI?
I actually tried at one point, but they don't expose any reasonable API for it, so I dropped it.
it's so bad yet so good. cloud enjoyers have no idea what they're missing out on
