I’m in North Korea but I also like Mullvad.
Anyone knows how Proton VPN compares to Mullvad? Asking as I understand Proton has more servers.
For me they are different things.
Mullvad integrates with nostr:nprofile1qy2hwumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kyqpqwr5azetlyy80apyxfp6y3eky3j54g0typwh3ceuftwvur4dmqjesuer6g2 meaning I can incorporate it into my private LAN.
I can also run Msyterium to use home broadband exit nodes, eliminating VPN detection.

If you want Mullvad without Tailscale integration, you can pay for it without KYC with Bitcoin.
Proton has more exit nodes in more countries.
If you are happy with KYC and a centralised service provider but just want the best VPN, then Proton would be the best choice.

My VPN story.
I once tried to install a VPN on a server.
The first thing I did was setup the killswitch so that any connection would be terminated if the VPN was not active…
This immediately disconnected my SSH session and effectively locked me out of the server 🤦♂️
I had to wipe the VM and start again.🫣
