Social media interactions are surrogates for real connection. They’re not “bad”, it’s just they suck up your attention and thereby crowd out the time you’d otherwise spent talking to people on the phone or in real life.

One habit I started is that I’ll often respond to people who text me with a recorded voice message. Voice > text. Another is just to unplug from social media. I may soon delete Nostr from my phone.

Hope you’re sleeping better now after the session you did in Mexico. Curious if you tried meditation or yoga nidra to help with insomnia before that?

Yeah I tried both beforehand. Yoga was helpful but not enough. Meditation was almost impossible because of fatigue.

Alternate nostril breathing can be beneficial.... Also called nadi shodana. It balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain.

But now you’re feeding the AI’s your voice 😱

not a fan of voice messages, too slow and meandering, inconvenient to parse.

for human connections nothing substitutes for real life

Agreed. Also for business stuff texting is generally more efficient.

Agree to an extent. But I’d rather have one thought provoking and productive exchange on social media than 10 worthless conversations about the weather or what diet someone is on this week.

not nostr

love sending voice notes, hate receiving them
