I have downloaded it already.. for me is a bit slow loading.. maybe I use too many relays.. and being a not new 5g phone doesn't help.
Yeah might be your Internet connection. How many relays do you use? ( I have 4 connected)
.. 19. 😅🤣
Is this your general relay configuration? Not sure about how many is “optimal”?
Yeah, before I had even more. I saw the average has like 12/15 max. I can't choose which to delete.. I have accumulation problems. 🥲
Is there a list of available relays which is kept up to date?
I had a link on my sources list.. I have to look it, can't remember it now 😅
Btw. can u recommend me the best lightning wallet (for IOS)?
#[5] for beginners, definitely.
I hope it does not require an on-chain transaction everytime I use the lightning network?
No no. WoS is the easiest ever. Just do kot lewve to much fund in amy custodial wallet like it, or similar one.
Custodial garbage. At least use something like breeze.
Derp i ment phoenix. Still avoid custodians like a plague
Ahahah categorical.
Can I use the #zap feature with it?
How is a new user supposed to use a self-custody wallet to get a Lightning address? I don’t think it’s necessary to be a purist. #[5] is a very good beginner wallet for most people to explore how the Lightning Network operates. They can move on when they’re ready.
We had a discussion about this earlier today in Nests.

Lol, most serious bitcoiners don’t even use self-custodial LN setups. Suggestions otherwise are a larp. The real difference is that established bitcoiners likely understand that WoS is custodial and therefor comes with certain risks. Risks that we as uses deem acceptable - acceptable, because USABILITY MATTERS.
So this is ultimately what we need to be educating new users on - tradeoffs over faux purism. There are no perfect solutions. Only tradeoffs. Just this realization is enough to send most people down the rabbit hole.
Yes.
So I had to step back and think about this a bit. As a technical person and bit of a self hosting maxamlist I find it extremely frustrating when people just default to a custodian because its easy. I feel like defaulting to custodians makes for lazy bitcoiners who will never want to learn the tech side because it "just works why run a node or learn when someone will do it for me". and that concerns me.
That being said, ill coincide that not everyone will be running nodes and much as I personally don't like them, letting someone get comfortable with how the network functions via a custodian is really the only option we have right now. Even when I let my friends use my node i'm still their "custodian". As long as the trade-offs are explained and understood. This is probably a function of me not paying attention to new users much but I don't really see trade-offs being explained well and I always find it ironic when people say they are ready to fight the state with a WOS addy in their bio.
TL;DR I guess need to stop being so salty.
I’m glad to see you coming around on this perspective. You may not see it much yourself, but I and others here talk about the trade-offs all the time. It’s one of the reasons we started #Nodestrich, to help people run nodes and find others to learn from so they can make more informed decisions.
I’m a decently tech-savvy person, but when I orange-pilled I did custody and bought on exchanges. I just didn’t feel comfortable diving in headfirst. I did my research and due diligence and evolved to make the correct decisions about privacy and ownership, but I still needed that on-ramp.
For nostr, I’m using WoS as a similar on-ramp. I have only bothered with the DCA game and never had a reason to participate on the LN, so I wasn’t/haven’t been ready to plunge into it just yet.
I think this is a natural progression for a lot of people and a totally valid one.

Same bruh
I have 17 relays and works fine for me
