I do want to get one of the pellet grills for bbq but out of my reach atm.
Not trying to be a karen, but when I lived in apartments I learned to use an electric grill. Sears used to sell a nice 1800W grill (in the 80s and 90s), and believe it ir not, my uncles used to prefer them even when they lived in a house. To get the smoke flavor, electric pellet grills can yield results. I do agree charcoal is always the standard you cant beat.

Now you got me curious. I just found this online. I'll get one if these for outside ny office for making steaks for lunch and let you know if its crap
That’s about the same price as a full size Weber. Interesting.
I’d be interested to hear about its performance.
When im at work im looking for stupid simple because i always get distracted with interuptions. I almost got a weber Q grill but they cost too much to leave outside and are a pain to clean
The electric sears grills came with a bag of lava rocks, they'd reflect the heat and absorb grease in a way that would evaporate when it'd get hot. Those grills were hidden gems, Id replace the element every few years and the grill would last at least 10. Because it was electric it usually wouldn't flame up (because no flame) unless you were cooking chicken, and even then you could avoid flareups by turning the temperature down
Ok I have an update on the electric grill.
It definately increases my #steak intake, but it takes quite a while to heat up. It doesent burn the steak, but its hard to grill it without making it well done. This primarily because it never gets that hot, at least the way Im using it. The other downside is that it attracts flies. Not necessarilt when youre not using it, but while youre grilling. Once it gets hot, the flies come from dozens of feet and they go mad around the grill.
I have to say, if youre going the electric route, i advise letting it heat up for atleast 30 or 45 minutes, and start out with your steaks at room temperature. If you dont want it overdone, be sure to use an instant read thermometer because the grill will decieve you, the outside doesent sear well until the inside is medium-well.
The right way to use it is probably cook it on the grill until its about 125F core temperature, then hit it with a torch to sear it.
