Question about my lightning node, Ride the Lightning, all received payments instantly go to existing channels. How do I take funds without closing a channel? Or, change do it funnels to on-chain, not channels?

#nodestrich help him please

**or, change SO it funnels to on-chain not channels

Submarine swaps.

Loop out. It will automatically generate the correct bitcoin address if you want it to go back to your node.

I just want to pull some out of the channels and send to a separate hw wallet. I’ll check out looping, thank you!

Assuming it's lnd, I think you've said it is

if you're using lnd, take a look at this:

I asked this question on stacker.news the other day and got absolutely flamed for it... some of these LN kids can be dicks lmao.

I can’t find it on Google…

Great feedback all, thank you, I’ll check out submarine and looping it out

To take funds out of a channel but keep the channels open you need to loop out or use a swap service. Fees will vary depending on the current onchain fee environment. Or find someone you trust to trade lightning funds for on chain sats. Or if KYC isn’t an issue and the amounts are relatively small, send via lightning to Cash App or River and then send back out to your on chain wallet address.

I’m not aware of a way to receive lightning payments to your node and have them go straight to your on chain wallet, as that would require some sort of swap to occur.

Ok, I’m getting it. Let me look into it

You can send funds out to another lightning invoice/address.

Directly from a channel?

of course. thats the whole point of lightning. just spend out.

I see it now, loop out, trying it for the first time..

Loop out it is, easy as pie, thanks for not roasting me, but ‘loop out’ sounds way too technical, complex and experimental for ‘gimme my freaking bitcoin’
