Human memory is unreliable. Just like one writes down their seed phrase, I also wrote down wallet descriptors, signing devices used, preferred software, etc that are easily accessible and interpretable to my family.
Someone could come across this documentation but they won’t have the key information to access funds.
Also, it’s all stored separately.
In the end, I have peace of mind should anything happen to me unexpectedly. My family will still have access to our funds.
Did some consolidation to practice on chain transactions with my wife. Keep your immediate family exposed to your bitcoin processes!

It’s not only for privacy, but for transaction validation. The cost is justified, no need to get paid. Buying and holding bitcoin covers that cost anyway.

If you decide going the self-custody route I would recommend a Start9 setup. It's got potential to be more than just a lightning node with other apps that are available.
Just ordered a couple Wilson Blade 98 v9s which I cannot wait to use.

Don't do a hackintosh. Way too unstable and a pain to plan and configure. Stay with Apple's hardware if you want MacOS. From a productivity standpoint I don't think there is anything better.
I use an 14" Macbook Pro M2 Max for work, it runs like a dream.
A custom PC if you're into gaming or have an application that strictly needs dedicated graphics. Otherwise you're stuck with Windows 🤮 or Linux which is great, but depends on what you want to do with it.

For anyone suffering from seasonal allergies 🌾, here's a personal anecdote.
Ever since I started taking beef 🐮 liver supplements I've had 0 allergy symptoms.
Today was an extreme pollen count for ragweed which would typically **kill** me; watery/itchy eyes, sneezing, runny nose..."the works" 🤧.
I felt great 😎 today, in what would have otherwise been instant regret for not taking allergy "medicine".
Maybe something worth trying. 🤷 The honey thing never worked for me.
