Why is #[0]​ so picky about hard drive connections compared to #[1]​?

I have 2 identical pi4 setups umbrel works fine start9 won’t work because of the connection to the hard drive?

What’s the issue here?

Does it not work unless ya got one of those naspi setups?

You can absolutely use whatever external SSD setup you want, we just don't recommend it. And neither does Umbrel, that's why they came out with the non-Pi Umbrel Home, advertising it as a solution to the known issues with the Raspberry Pi.

Using external SSDs with the Pi might might go well, or it might not, or it might go well for a while and then bam, disk corruption.

Can you confirm that the pi with the start 9 enclosure I purchased from you last year is going to be good long term?

Ha we do not monitor Nostr 24/7. We check in every couple of days.

I personally think you should upgrade to more capable hardware. You can run StartOS on most any old hardware tbh. Much more power.
