Would you argue with someone if they are too entrenched in their beliefs to consider opposing perspectives?

If the conversation starts with a question, then perhaps we can have an open dialogue.

probably not

i don't like to argue

>_<

sometimes when you can see the flow of the conversation or if the convo is misleading you or rage baiting you, silence is the best strategy or walk away from the convo. protect your energy always! ☺️

If they’re open to change then yes. Otherwise it’s a waste of time.

indeed. curious — how would you spot a person who is open to change esp in an impersonal convo like plain text?

In text? I probably wouldn’t even get involved… In person you can at least get a sense of open-mindedness or build up an understanding by spending time with them and how they interact in different situations.

a very wise technique. it is hard on text. F2f or in-person convo is much relatable, you get a sense of their reactions and how open they are willing to converse with you ☺️👌

Agreed. Being curious rather than forceful may open the door to them willing to listen to your side of the story

💯 agree. Curiosity leads to collaborative open discussion. but I've learned that people sometimes open their mouth not to seek to discuss but to create intriguing heated debate. Sometimes it gives them the dopamine hit or the feeling of superiority.

Yes sometimes a person needs some aggression to look past their own perspective to see another. That passion can ignite curiosity but it takes the willingness to begin to understand & then a dialogue can form to be copacetic.
