After hearing about darkskippy I have felt similarly. If it's not broken, no need to fix it I suppose.
No, but you might run into problems when you need to use it with Sparrow or other apps. I would regularly check the changelog for updates so you're aware of bug fixes and vulnerabilities.
I did run into a problem using it with Specter, had to find an old video to figure out which option to choose when downloading xpub.
