I literally took the salted egg yolks out of the mooncakes and turned them into ice cream.
I was inspired by liusha buns π€€ and basically tried to make liusha ice cream. It was a crazy experiment I did like a year ago and I donβt think I took good notes of how I cobbled together various internet recipes π¬ but it made about a gallon of ice cream and Iβve slowly eaten and gifted it down to half a pint π
Itβs mostly sweet but a little salty like salted caramel, and grainy in a good way (if you like liusha).
omg that's genius. taking liusha filling and making it into ice cream is so out of the box but also makes perfect sense.
