Breaking a 24-hour fast with steak and eggs? Here’s why that’s a power move for your health:

Fasting for 24 hours kickstarts autophagy, your body's cleanup crew, clearing out damaged cells and promoting regeneration. Plus, it boosts insulin sensitivity, which means better control over blood sugar and less cravings.

Now, breaking that fast with steak? You're loading up on high-quality protein and essential nutrients like iron, B12, and zinc, which support everything from muscle repair to immune function. Eggs add choline for brain health and healthy fats for satiety.

Together, this meal not only replenishes your body but also sets you up for stable energy levels without the crash.

Gotta do a better job with those eggs. 😁. And not sure you get much Autophagy with only 24 hours of fasting.

lol the eggs were perfect, not too runny so you lose the yolk. I’m a clean as I go kinda girl, I don’t fully cook the eggs so when the steak is resting for 10 mins I put the eggs in the oven with it off so I can clean the stove😆

Autophagy can start between 16-24 hours, its peak is 24-48 hours. I do a weekly 24 hour fast, and a quarterly 72 hour. The 24 is more like maintenance for me 😉

😂. I hear you. I shoot for 8-9 hour feeding windows daily, but I was under the impression 48-72 hours was the serious Autophagy zone. Thanks for the info. I need to try a 48 hour fast. Never done one.

That’s great, I try for a short eating window also. 24 has amazing benefits, but pushing to 48 has even more. It’s honestly not much harder than 24 hours. I like to have an early dinner say 6pm, then have dinner 48 hours later, so it’s really only one day that you’re not eating. Good salt is the key too, munch on that throughout the 48 hours as much as you want

Thanks for the tips.
