Yesterday while riding around the property on the Gator we found a large patch of plantain, which is great. I think i'll transplant some of these closer to the house, as they are way out in the field. Not sure how well they'll take to transplanting, never done it before. But it was a pleasant surprise to see them out there. #grownostr #plantain #permies #countrylife

Let them go to seed and plant the seeds. Cutting that deep tap root usually kills them. I scattered plantain seeds at the end of last summer and they are coming up everywhere.

Oh, good to know! I picked a tiny little "pod" thing on one of them, but it just looked sort of puffy. Will the seeds form in those eventually?

Seed stalks will form as the plant matures. You should be able to see the seeds. I let mine sit until they were nice and dry. The chickens started picking seeds off the stalks.

I'll look for these, thanks.

When y’all get some extra seed I’d be interested in a seed swap. I need some plantain for bug bite remedies.

Yeah, that would be a great idea. Hopefully we get lots of seeds from this patch.
