it's been hours but I'm still skeeved out by this encounter.

today at the store I broke off from taro and husband who had him in the shopping cart to grab something down an aisle. on the way back to them, I saw a woman approaching our cart closely with her cart staring at taro.

she brushed her fingers across taro's hand that was holding onto the side of his cart seat and then kept walking.

who touches someone else's baby without permission or greeting? this is absolutely not okay!!!

jeez, there are some poorly socialized folk out there.

I never had a random touching, but a lot of Mexican women would talk to me and then touch cheesejr's foot because of the ojo. It was a cultural thing for them but we always had conversations about how they didn't want the evil eye on him after they said he was cute. After the first time I was okay with it and it was always a leg or a foot.

I could be okay with strangers touching if they made conversation first. the fact that this lady was being all sneaky was so creeeeeppppyyy

Yeah, rando creepy walk by touching is wild. At least explain your need for touching a child. I love babies and will talk or wave but no touching.

I used to be indifferent to babies before taro but now when I see babies younger than taro I melt a little inside. so tiny and cute πŸ₯°

πŸ’― Babies change you.

absolutely. I remember a few days after we came back from the hospital, I noticed the windshield was SO DIRTY. like, how can you see out of this thing?

the windshield had been in the same state for weeks leading up to taro's birth but once he was here I was like "oh no no no, this is unsafe!!!”

Love this! πŸ˜‚ Clean the windshield pre-birth this time.

seriously, I'm getting the car washed this time around.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ next level nesting.

Same. I saw having a baby as a necessary step to having a child, and really thought I wasn’t going to have much fun with her until she turned 7 or so. Boy was I wrong πŸ˜…

I'm the other way around. I really looked forward the newborn and the baby stages. Still do ❀️

I'm kind of scared of the little kid phase, especially now there will be three boys. I'm planning to embrace the chaos and fart jokes πŸ˜†

We started the fart jokes really early here πŸ˜…

I am absolutely that weird mom in the check out line waving at the baby in the cart in front of me but I'd NEVER take it upon myself to touch someone else's child without saying something to the parent. I have, however, put my whole body in front of a toddler running for an exit without a parent visible on more than one occasion and actually snatched one up for that reason when I was at work at the library.

that is totally acceptable! safety first!

Same πŸ˜‚. The kids that are running in to danger I feel are the exception.

That’s a horrible experience. Lizard people are so weird

This happened to our newborn as well. Random strangers touching him in the stroller. Who tf does that

in his stroller? omg 😱

yeah like petting him likes a fucking cat. Like don’t touch my kid you fuckin weirdo

πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ’€

y'alls worse experiences are making me feel like I'm not alone in this. πŸ«‚

Ewww. Rude. Some people !

The worst is when people take photos and videos of my kids. Happens all the time. I’ll be playing with one, or will be swimming and someone will come up and take a pic of them while they are sitting. I’ve literally had to run after them and take their phone from them to delete it. It’s usually old women, from a certain ethnicity, and I’m assuming it’s cultural, but I find it disturbing.

😱 I hope that never happens to me.

man, I am not looking forward to the spectable we'll be when there's 3 under 3 πŸ’€

Wow, three under 3, that’s awesome! Don’t let the crusty ones make you feel bad because you may be loud and out of control. They’re just jealous.

We’ll have 5 under ten soon! Most people can’t handle us in grocery stores, as we usually have three carts manned by feral children.

actually now that I think about it... it'll be 3 under 2 😳 cuz taro will be 18 mo when the twins come.

thanks for the advice! I don't know many people who have more than two kids so it is appreciated.

Oh, you’re having twins! Congrats! How are you feeling?

I feel like a barge. only 23 weeks but I feel as big as I was right before taro came.

can't complain though.... not yet anyway!

πŸ˜‚ a bargeπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

My wife is the biggest she’s been on this one. More of a bulldozer. When she’s backing into bed we both start making the beeping noise for when a truck backs upπŸ˜‚

I had to tell my husband to park the car over a little more in the driveway so I have space to get out πŸ˜†

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Oh the grocery store definitely knows when our kids get there. The kids get their own mini carts and start making the rounds to their favorite stuff while being as loud as possible

πŸ˜‚ I don’t even try to rein them in anymore.

Its an energetics thing IMO. Some people are energy vampires and kids are unsuspecting targets sadly.

Its a fine line between having our kids out in the public realm to give them more experience while also protecting their life force
