1 BTC is 1 BTC, how one chooses to handle, spend, transfer might differ. If I fill a bucket with fresh water and spill half of it while I transport it elsewhere, it's still water, it still has value. It was I, who squandered the precious resource not the elements or atoms that became that liquid.
1 BTC == 1 BTC — but is it really like that?
1 BTC onchain has different characteristics, use cases and fees than 1 BTC on Lightning. Thinking about ways to offer a seamless and unified (onchain+offchain) wallet experience in nostr:npub155m2k8ml8sqn8w4dhh689vdv0t2twa8dgvkpnzfggxf4wfughjsq2cdcvg and I don't think there's a one size fits all solution, because the needs and wants of how to allocate capital vary across merchants/users.
Discussion
This was meant more in terms of utility than monetary value, nevertheless e.g. with regards to fees it also affects the monetary value. I should have been more precise there.
