And this is why planting an apple tree or a few is a good idea. Even if it's potted in an apartment. Wages don't keep up with debasement. If we want good food its up to us to figure that shit out.

she said she can't because customs would take them away... it's illegal to bring in foreign apple seeds from another country but it's totally cool for Asia to bring in deadly hammerhead soil slugs into Canada evidently
That's disappointing. What cultivar was it? Maybe you can still get one there just not from seed. Honestly buying a 3 or 4 year old tree is worth it. Otherwise you're 7 years or so from fruit.
