because nostr needs bitcoin to even exist. the circular economy is the only thing that will incentivize a decentralized network in its growth phase, help prevent traditional problems with botfarms, and is resistent to capture by VCs that would end up being just another twitter.

think about the incentives at play here and try not to hate lightning so much that you forget about incentives..

as a dev, i would love nothing more than to be paid for work granularly vs. a fiat mine salary job. as an operator of servers, same. as a content creator, same. as any other type of value provider, same.

look at big tech, they are drooling about the possibilities if they could just enable payments.. but they can't, and nostr already has. theyre suppressing nostr discovery as much as possible but they cant do it forever.

so, whats the issue here? use drivechains if you want ffs, but you cant shit on the integrated payments its the one thing keeping this dream alive, ANd the most powerful network effect ever imo 😁
