Wife on phone with potential employer for 2 hours.

😬

What could you possibly talk about?

Is this uniquely Japanese? I have no idea about the local job market.

Hmm, seems like a long time

Yep. They are probably talking about nostr and bitcoin.

😂 I wish

Building rapport

Sounds dumb

😂 🤣

We've learned the hard way! If you find someone good in 30 mins, better make them an offer ASAP

For engineers our company does like 4 interviews, the final being a 2.5 hour interview. Don’t think I’ve ever heard a phone screen go that long though.

2.5 in person?

Might be a lil shorter in person. My final was 2.5 over zoom and I got a little break in between the 2 different interviewers I met with.

Usually a good sign, building trust. 🐶🐾🫡

I could never do this. Consider me unemployable in Japan or any company that asks this.

It happened naturally, so flow of time is not noticed. 🐶🐾🤣

I find many workplaces to be like this - half the time not doing anything productive.

I could never do that either, would feel like FOREVER

Remember, all feelings are subjective 🐶🐾🤷‍♂️

Ok

No don't make Ai images of him, he will roast you 😂

This one is not so bad, at least I can see some effort, not like someone else 🐶🐾🤔

You asked for it

Like Yellow snow

Thats my cusion he owes me money

the metaphor is that "steve wozniak" is "king of japan"

and "meta" also japan

Maybe because it is hard to fire people in japan, once you get hired, you get hired forever

You are basically family

Me gustó 👏👏

For hat I know Japanese businesses are usually very procedural. Always a lot of talking, a lot of papers to fill, fax to use, lots of informal reunions even after work (nomikai), etc.
