Probably somewhat true across Asia; the value of a strongly decentralized system that isn't controlled by a human hierarchy isn't easily grokked by most people there. Of course there are some exceptions, but in my experience those people are in an even smaller minority there than here.
Likely got to do with a ever expanding money supply and zero bandwidth to go deep down the rabbithole. Some sheeple mentality thrown in there. Toxcitiy and adoption don't go hand in hand IMO.
