I’ve always viewed Nostr as a “running toward” instead of a “running away from.”

A lot of Nostr messaging has been about “running away from” censorship/centralized platforms.

The reality is that 99% of people don’t give a fuck about that. The tiny fraction of the 1% who are here on Nostr now DO, but the vast majority do it.

What will ultimately bring more and more people to Nostr is not the fear of censorship; it is the promise of what Nostr apps can do.

It might have started as a running away for me, but it's developed into a love for freedom tech that I wouldn't want to compromise.

Fuck sorry for typo I’ve had (many) beers. Tl;dr Nostr wins because cypherpunks are writing rad code (or vibecoding) and building cool shit that people run TOWARD.

exactly.

the point is, be ready for when they do need to care about these things. which we are.

in the meantime, we need to solve real problems they have today that they can't find solutions to anywhere else.

For me as user, Nostr is a freedom/bitcoin hub. It's been a long time since my last login on X/FB. It's simply better for me.

Users only care about outcomes. They don’t care if it’s in rust. They don’t care you used a MacBook. They don’t care if it has AI.

Yup. Also the part about getting angry at imaginary non-users for not wanting things they're (quote unquote) supposed to want, and not fearing things they're (quote unquote) supposed to fear.
