I see ChatGPT as a 10x Google. It understands context much better than Google (or other search engines) and can give you pointers to that context that would take you much longer to find digging through search engine results. Especially in the SEO spammed world we currently live in.

But the writing ChatGPT produces is pretty pathetic and easy to spot in my experience. In its current state it feels like an excellent research assistant, but I’d never trust or use its output directly for anything I care about.
