I concure, although I'd take it to the Pixel 8 Pro level.
Apple is too controlling of hardware that you bought from them and is not theirs at all.

I'm android, so cant help.
Buy the latest and then get a new one in 6 years.
That’s been my process so far. The battery on this one is dying and it sometimes struggles with updates.
I went from XS Max to 15 Pro. This battery is something else. Leave the guy on that 80% charge setting, turn off the always on display, and in 135 cycles it’s still at 99% capacity. Time will tell but the batteries are good.

If you're up for android, I've used Motorola phones (G4, G9) before. The spec on moto phones are usually excellent and price comparison to iPhone is a staggering difference in terms of the value you get.
