Exodus and trezor

probably cashapp or strike. non custodial is gonna burn for a noob with a small stack. if and when their stack becomes meaningful they are hopefully incentivized to learn and take personal responsibility.

🎯💯

Many may disagree, but I still think Muun is great for the new user and even has Lightning 🐶🐾🫡

Muun still has its place, in my opinion.

I have had no issues using it for stacking, since you don't get hit with the nasty fees for receiving on Lightning. They just won't let you receive at all if on-chain fees are popping.

I let about 1-2 million sats build up in it by receiving via Lightning, then send them out to cold storage on-chain.

speed wallet

Sparrow for interaction with cold storage.

Mutiny Wallet (Lightning/on-chain)as hot wallet.

Phoenix

I've been asking myself the same thing lately.

I like minibits.cash. is very easy and it gives them a lightning address and nostr key.

I recently created a wallet for my teenage son by writing 12 words in a birthday card and taught him how to recover the wallet by going to app.mutinywallet.com. That's also cool, but I wouldn't do that for strangers, I love Mutiny because of how they handle game theory, but noobs might have a hard time wrapping their head around Venmo for bitcoiners.

I tried explaining it to a newcoiner recently. It didn't go so well.

I've been recommending Aqua. It's got onchain, liquid and can use swaps for lighting.

I like Aqua i use it.

What country? Are they trying to swap fiat for btc?

USA, no need to swap. Ideally supports lightning and main chain

aqua wallet

open source, self custodial, supports lightning and mainchain

Mutiny is my favorite, followed by Zeus or breez. All three support both lightning and main chain.

Envoy for on-chain btc is nice

Custodial: nostr:npub1h2qfjpnxau9k7ja9qkf50043xfpfy8j5v60xsqryef64y44puwnq28w8ch

Noncustodial: nostr:npub1ajlrwgfj4yerhqf7ady03h7wmtk2qr3gs7h3sxcx83k05yld36sswpzx3q

Just my humble opinion, though.

A hot wallet on mobile:

Muun: for self-custody, lightning + on chain, low fees.

Wallet of Satoshi: i know you hate it ^^ but it's the simplest way for a noob to get a ln address and move small amounts of sats

Blockstream green: on-chain only, the most secure of the 3 wallets with self-custody and 2FA multisig

I wish Green supported Lightning. That would make it the perfect wallet in my opinion!

It's a little hidden into the settings but you can create a lightning wallet if you enable the "experimental features" on Green wallet, android versions

Awesome!! Hopefully that means it will be a standard feature in the future.

Hello newstr! I recommend stacker.news for newbies.

I just wrote an article for new users like you, take a read. I hope it helps.

Mutiny!

I like nostr:npub1tcnvkw8fu29zspw54tuhfrk0tkzn6qdupmc45slt4zmase3dzqask6ctu0 Cause it’s also pretty 🤩

Casa single key with encrypted backup. The noob doesn't have to think of offline backups.
