There are many techniques for this, and a great place to start is liminal dreaming-exploring the states of hypnagogia and hypnopompia.

I will post about this but for a deep dive, I can highly recommend this book ⬇️

I became interested in lucid dreaming as a teen but only succeeded in my twenties. Two things helped:

- Keeping a dream journal.

- Wearing a “totem” as a reminder to regularly ask, “Am I dreaming?”

Yes, indeed, one of the most effective ways to become lucid in your dream me is to create many moments of questioning your lucidity in your wakeful state.

Meaning, whenever slightly odd or surprising happens in your waking state, ask yourself “is this real?”

Do a reality check such as looking at your hand (which in dreams tends to warp) or trying to breathe through a pinched nose (possible in dreams).

Because by building a habit of doing this in your waking state, you’ll have a habit of questioning reality in your dream state, leading to lucidity 👏
