One aspect of the enshittification of technology is that by turning lots of items into smart devices, we speed up their obsolescence.

I hate that my 6 year old TV, which is in perfect condition, is now relatively"slow" to load streaming apps and it regularly crashes.

Isn't this two different problems?

One is the hardware and then the other one is the protocols/software

Case in point super fancy websites with way too much CSS JS WebAssem scripts trackets Not working for old browsers hence neobrutalism

At this point just don't see how IOT has anything to do with a TV being slow 🤔🤔 Time for some brain stretching!
