Do people under 16 use legacy social media too much? Yes. Is legacy social media bad for your health? Yes. Is this a stupid law that isn't enforceable? Also yes.

My kid must be kind of a weirdo because even though she does use TikTok, she’s much more into gaming and Discord than any other legacy social media. Maybe I just raised her right lol

I approve of gaming 🥹

Same

Trying to fix it with laws that sound good on paper but are impossible to enforce just misses the mark. Teach responsibility, don’t just legislate it.

This is the way. Responsible parenting is key here. Parents have the tools to limit their kids usage if they chose to do it that way too.

💯

I feel kids born with smart phones and social are less into these things as compared to their parents 😂😂 ...

And I also feel social has done more good than harm ! ..

More good parents, less bad laws.

“Virginia governor tries to centrally plan parenting.”

My kids have been badgering me to get them a smartphone for months. I know they'll end up using social media if I do, so I tell them, if you want a smartphone so bad, get a job🤷🫡.

Parenting.

Yep. Both a blessing and a curse😅🤷.

Stuff like this gets us one step closer to: "All of these protection laws would work if we just had some way to identity everyone who connects to the internet. We need something like a driver's license for the internet."

Yes, this is a stupid, unenforceable law. But Va recently banned cell phones from public schools (100% ban) and even the kids love it.
