Opening 1 #Lightning channel per month, or week is not hard.
And in a few months you'll have a viable node running.
Wait... Is there a reason to have a ton of channels open and not just one fat one?

For personal spending use 1 big channel is fine with maybe a 2nd channel as backup. It's more if you want to try out some routing and increase decentralization of #Lightning.
One fat one won't allow you to route.
