Working on a first pass at adding a "custom feed" feature to Coracle. Based only on a DVM's pubkey, clients can ask using kind 5300 for a list of events.

These are useful because the events returned can be completely dynamic, and make it possible to wrap pretty much any content into a nostr client.

The downside is that these feeds are a pretty heavy lift to set up since they require running a DVM. You also don't get the same kind of introspection you might with lists or labels.

This works great though for my use case of adding group-admin-defined custom feeds to groups (publicly or privately).

cool af ๐Ÿ˜Ž

so to show a custom or curated feed, you must fetch events from a single source, right? or does the dvm publish the feeds out?

sorry if this is clear in the video, itโ€™s too small on mobile :p

I would love the ability to pick some favorite npubs that always show up at the top of my feed. I follow lots of people, but have a few friends that I don't want to miss their posts.

Coracle's lists basically give you that, you just have to switch to them manually.

How do you setup a list?

Click on the three-dots button on someone's profile, then "add to list"
