Waiting for the day all the nostr devs get on the same page and actually make nostr work for the general public that won't go to 100 diff places to use nostr....
(95% of regular folks will open an app, and THAT APP will be the experience they have on nostr)
Til then, nostr is just a devs playground and the world's like 🥱

We need one app to rule them all, Built by all the devs, working together.
Tired of having to go off nostr, to fully use nostr, and I think that's why nostr hasn't "clicked" with the general public yet, even with the media attention thus far.

I just pushed an update to nostrfreaks.com/test that works on mobile. You can save the website to your homepage and it works as PWA. could use some help testing that before I push the update!

People are to used to opening an app, and what's in that app, is their experience with FB or Nostr...
For instance, I can grab my phone and tap FB.
I don't have to go off of facebook to go live.
I do t have to go off FB to make a list....

I open FB, and a bunch of features appears for me to use. A world of possibilities opens up.
Currently, folks open nostr, and learn they have to leave amethyst, damus, or w/e client they are using, to fully experience nostr and all of its features everyone is building...
How do we get things like Live, Nostr Nests, Nostr band, zapstr, and all of these amazing features/micro apps of nostr.... INTO ONE app like amethyst and damus.... so when folks click on the "Nostr app", a bunch of features are available to use....
Who ever does this 1st will have the world's attention, but I don't think it's going to be ONE...
It's going to be all the nostr devs.
So, owning your idenitity is a hard problem.
I worked on it for almost 20 years before nostr was the first reasonable solution in 2023
More people will want this, but it's work, for now. It will get easier, and more people will do that work, if they want to own their own identity.
But it creates a good culture, because the people here really appreciate the freedom, even if it was hard to obtain.
Usually we value more the things that are hard to get
The real value proposition of nostr is actually the ability to carry your identity and social graph across different apps... Having a "everything" app is not really scalable.
Personally I'd like to see a browser esque app store. I'd love for my main nostr app to feed to also be the entryway for other things... like early facebook as central login, except without the centralised zuck
100%, this website shit drives me crazy, I don't know where to go or how to use it. If I can't figure it out the general public is a lost cause.
