Never even heard of it. Is it any good?
I haven't tried watching it.
I hear from Internet nerds that it sucks.
I hear from other people it's hilarious after you get used to basically the concept of family guy in space🤷🏽
I'm not that into family guy, hmm
I do like Galaxy Quest tho lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It does feel like something like Farscape or Babylon 5, just wouldn't be made today. Not an all out comedy TV series in space. But a weird goofy soap, with alien costumes and a plot and all that lol
I miss farscape...
I guess the closest to soaps in space but goofy for the family would be doctor who?
Yeah p much. I think it peaked with Peter capaldi imo tho
I stopped watching after capaldi🤷🏽
I tried the new lady and it was worse writing than when moffat did dinosaurs on a spaceship. So I jumped ship
Jump!
I liked capaldi though. I like the curmudgeonly underdog doctors I guess. I looked him and eccelston the best. Then Tennant.
Then I hated smith. Mostly because he seemed childish and so did the writing. He was a good doctor though🤷🏽
Just fuck moffat writing man... What happened?? He used to be good. To this day I still use blink to get people interested in who.
I suppose it is a kid's show. But it seems to have gone even more kiddish. Although I barely watched enough. I never even think about it existing.
Well that's my issue with it because it's NOT a kid show.
They specifically have a doctor who kids show. That's Sarah Jane adventures.
Doctor who is a family show. No blood or guts. But adult themed that adults can have conversations with their kids about in a safe way.
Then the adult sex nudity doctor who was Torchwood
I think Kids Shows as a genre has just narrowed into that, and needed spin offs. But look at some of the 70s children's shows (which Dr Who wouldve been amongst). They're terrifying lol.
Eg
🤣🤣🤣
Old who went through seasons of being tooooo educational too so I see your point
Lol this is educational tho 🫡🫡
🤣🤣🤣
I miss good moffat. This feels like it was WRITTEN BY A FUCKING TODLER
I stopped watching after Sylvester McCoy because the writing was so bad. (Okay, technically I stopped watching after Paul McGann, but I never finished McCoy’s episodes.)
You need to see blink then.
Poor Kathy. The Doctor should have rescued her from 1920 after he got his T.A.R.D.I.S. back.
She was happy with her man who thought she was 21!
Probably a fixed point in time at that point. Right? Well yeah I mean otherwise the grandson wouldn't be there to give the letter and yadda yadda
I dont think this is for me lol, it's too sketch comedy/SNLish. Too 'THIS IS COMEDY'.
Yeah I just watch the "best moments video" and was like... These are the BEST moments?
It was a tough watch after 5 seconds only lol
Orville is full of inside type jokes. I'm not so picky when it comes to shows so I think it's alright. I don't think you guys would like it though. It's campy but tries too hard to be... I watch it though because I simply can't get enough of ANY space themed exploration type shows. I love them all.
NGL.
I think for me it's the pacing. It has Star Trek pacing and I'm def a star wars kid. I only watched every Star Trek so I can argue with star Trek people about why Star wars is better🤷🏽
I was a star wars kid but mostly cause I was a big nerd and collected the star wars ccg (card game). Had several friends that were huge trekkies tho. The battles were endless haha
Ironically I never met anyone that didn't like both🤷🏽
But I still like to argue the one that is more entertaining is obviously better because it's better at letting your attention and not putting you to sleep🤷🏽
But also I think it's the difference in people. I think star wars people are take action people and star Trek people are let's figure out our options people
The Orville was everything that star trek post voyager should have been. It's more star trek than modern star trek
That's an interesting take.
They make me want to suffer through watching it so I can argue with you too
