but the notes in question show zaps from others but not me
and my zaps do show on most notes just not all

It could be that the recipient changed wallet which changes the wallet pubkey that is needed to validate the receipts. Clients don’t handle this well and in some situations its impossible for the client to know the history of all previous wallets used
