I think native anti-virus software may have improved. I think Windows had no choice but to get a handle on it. It was a selling point for Apple PCs and laptops. I remember when there were news segments on the latest computer virus. One of those viruses infected all of our school computers in high school, so our computer lab was shut down for a few days. However, I’m not expert and avoid doing things online that increase my risk of getting a computer virus (eg torrenting).
